We loved Rodebjer's SS15 collection so much, we became the exclusive Australian stockist
of the brand!

The story behind the label is one of talent, hard work and a little luck. It goes like this: designer,
Swedish-born Carin Rodebjer was spotted wearing some of her own handmade clothes on
the streets of New York. The compliment led her to sell her designs to friends and select boutiques
in NYC and Stockholm, before building the brand to what it is today. Along the way, she's
received numerous awards, including the Best Deisgner of the Year award (more than once)
from Swedish ELLE.

The SS15 collection has all the hallmarks of Carin's design: slouchy silhouettes, luxury fabrics
and an intriguing mix of pattern, print and texture that works day to night, Monday to Sunday.

Read our exclusive interview with Carin below, or shop our slection of Rodebjer here.

Tell us more about the inspiration behind your SS15 collection.
We took inspiration from the energy and directness of indigenous art and unschooled, yet
brilliant, creativity. Another inspiration was the intensity and challenges of modern life, taking
a cue from American performance artist Nick Cave and his neo-tribal Sound Suits.

The collection beats with the pulse of an urban nomad. I imagined her walking with a fast and
pounding pace through the city heat.

Do you have a muse or certain woman in mind when you design?
I have the Rodebjer woman in mind. She has the courage to follow her own ideals and values.
She is modern, self-reliant and laidback.

Any favourite pieces from the collection?
I am personally in love with a pair of cropped jeans with a raw edge, the frosty pink items and
all the zigzag jacquard pieces as well as the cotton net fringe styles.

Running a successful label requires you wear a few different hats. How do you switch
into design mode?
I focus and isolate myself as much as I possibly can from day-to-day things.

What are some common style mistakes you often see women make?
Not wearing clothes that you feel comfortable in. It always shows when someone is dressed
for someone else and not for themselves.

Are there any style 'rules' you like to follow?
Wear what makes you feel like a better version of yourself.

What do you pack to go away on holiday?
Our caftans.

What does it mean to you to have your clothes stocked in Australia at funkis?
I am very excited that Rodebjer is stocked at funkis in Australia. I love bringing Rodebjer to new
parts of the world to meet new inspiring women since I have always seen Rodebjer as a way
to connect and open up.
