BECKMAN
DESIGNER, ARCHITECT AND MARKETING GURU
Anders Beckman was a pioneer in Swedish advertising art and a famous
poster artist.
Beckman was responsible for many prestigious projects like marketing
for the World Exhibition in New York 1939 and the graphic design for
H55, the famous design exhibition in Hälsingborg 1955.
In 1939 the Beckmans School of Design was founded and is today one
of the most important schools for design in Sweden.
Anders Beckman contributed two designs to this exhibition “Smoke”
and “West Coast”. The constant presence of his cigar inspired
the design for Smoke.
