9 SELVAS
DE MARISCAL
BY 3 TINTAS
It is an honour for Tres Tintas BCN to count on an author of
the standing of Javier Mariscal for its fourth collection. A great artist
and designer of boundless creativity, capable of expressing himself through
multiple formats and artistic disciplines: illustration; comics; graphic,
industrial, textile and interior design; painting; sculpture; multimedia or
animation.
From the first catalogue onwards Tres Tintas BCN has promoted collections
with a distinct character and has invited its authors to capture their most
authentic, subjective and intimate worlds. And who better than an artist
with the talent of Javier Mariscal to undertake a commission of this nature?
Not only has he created a school with his light-hearted, bright world and
his expressive language, but also he is a professional with many years of
experience in the three important fields needed in the production of a good
wallpaper collection: illustration, printing and interior design.
9 Selvas
is Mariscal’s vision of the world which surrounds him: urban
chaos and the Mediterranean landscape. The world as seen by an intuitive
artist that expresses himself through a synthetic language, of simple lines
and great expressivity. His retina captures the magnificent shapes of
Majorcan pine trees and transforms the day to day of urban life into poetry,
whether it be the chaotic comings and goings in cities, a great stack of
chairs or the thousands of anonymous faces which we pass by every day on the
streets. Moments and occasions that he describes with a language that
despite being straightforward in its result is complex in its intention,
innocent and provocative as well as being able to connect, communicate and
move.
And the result is obvious. 9 Selvas is a collection
of great artistic quality and superb technical production, a creation with
which Tres Tintas BCN puts its faith in a consolidated artist with a
brilliant career to continue experimenting with new ways to decorate the
walls of contemporary interior design.
